This game is not the first one I made with the Game Maker engine, but one of the few I am particularly proud of. With this game I wanted to expose only the core gameplay of a space shooter and remove everything else. I learned that when a player reach a deep state of focus because of the gameplay, the esthetic part of a game does not matter anymore. It also showed me that even small and simple game design mechanics can translate into exciting gameplay.
